What is the difference in Central Learning Center and Central Parent's Day Out?

Central Learning Center is open year-round, and offers preschool age and school age care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Central Parent's Day Out is open during the school year, closes for holidays, and summer, fall, and spring breaks, and offers preschool care from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Enrollment and Placement
I'm relocating to the Memphis area. How do I enroll my child in Central Learning Center?

I'm pregnant now, can I put my child on your waiting list now for the 2-year-old program?
- No, our waiting list is only available for the current school year.
Does it cost money to be put on your waiting list?
- No, it does not cost anything to be put on our waiting list.
Can my child move ahead a year if I feel he/she is accelerated? Or can my child be given an assessment to skip a class?
- No, we must adhere to our birth date entrance requirements for each age group to ensure your child will be old enough to enter Kindergarten.
May I request a specific teacher for my child?
- No, we feel that all of our teachers are worthy to be called "the very best", so in essence, each child is being placed in "the very best classroom". We prayerfully consider each child's placement and after looking at many factors, strive to have each of our classrooms as diverse and well-rounded as possible.
Policies and Procedures
Who will be allowed to pick up my child?
- Only the people listed on your enrollment form, or those for whom you give written permission will be allowed to pick up your child. Phone requests are not accepted. Anyone picking up a child in our care must be prepared to show a state issued photo I.D.
What does "fully potty trained" mean?
- Our definition of fully potty trained means your child wears regular underwear the entire day, including nap time. It also means your child can take care of all his/her needs independently, including wiping. Our staff will help children zip and snap pants, but will not go into the restroom with children.
Are you a peanut-free center?
- No, all children bring their lunch from home each day. We are happy to allow your child to sit at a table where no other children are eating items that contain peanuts.

Do you have a scholarship or tuition assistance program?
What are my options to pay my fees?
- Fees can be paid by cash, check, money order, debit card, Visa, MasterCard, and online. For more information, click here.
How often are payments due?
- Payments are due the Friday before the coming week or parents may pay more than a week in advance. For more information, click here.
Do I need to pay an additional amount for the enrichment classes offered?
- The following enrichment classes are included in your child's weekly tuition: Art, Library, Music, and Spanish. Three additional programs, Happi Feet Soccer, Tech Tots Computer Explorers, and Tennis Tots, are available to parents who enroll their child through each company. Do you charge a fee for picking up my child after 6 p.m.?
- Children picked up after 6 p.m. will be billed $2.00 per child for every minute late. More than three late pick-ups in a school year will result in late fees being doubled.
Do I get vacation/sick/holiday time?
- Families of preschoolers are given 2 weeks of credit based on their child's current schedule after their first 90 days and at each anniversary date. Unused credit does not carry forward.
Meals and Snacks
Does Central Learning Center provide lunch for my child?
- No, each child brings a ready-to-eat lunch from home in a lunch box each day. We encourage you to use an ice pack to keep food cold, or a thermos to keep food warm as we cannot warm up or refrigerate food. We provide 2% milk and water at lunch.
Does Central Learning Center provide snacks for my child?
- Yes, we provide a morning snack with water and an afternoon snack with water. The snack menu is posted weekly in each classroom.
Are you a peanut-free center?
- No, all children bring their lunch from home each day. We are happy to allow your child to sit at a table where no other children are eating items that contain peanuts.
